February Fun
Latest News:
There are two new paintings for February.
One is a happy Chihuahua bounding through the grass on a lovely warm afternoon. She’s so thrilled with the pleasant weather after months of cold and snow.
The other is a portrait of Hacha, a recently rescued galga at Galgos Del Sol.
She was quite fearful when she was brought in, but she softened quickly, and her expression was so sweet that I couldn’t resist painting her in a pretty flowered grassy area, in hopes that it would help someone envision her in their loving home and apply to adopt her.
When I checked back at the website, she was already reserved (before I ever posted the painting).
So, I hope that maybe her adopters will see it and maybe it will make them smile.
In The Studio:
It feels good to get moving and get more work done again. As the time constraints of life dragged me slower and slower with output of art, I couldn’t help but wonder how I ever kept up the pace of one painting a week. I’m still not sure how I did it, but I would love to do that again.
I’m actually quite happy with how the two February paintings turned out, but I wish I had been more prompt about posting them to social media.
I’ve still been off my social media routine, so I will need to work on that.
As for paintings, I’m happy enough right now just pulling reference images from my “ideas“ folder and painting away.
I have ideas for more creative projects, like infinite zoom videos or animations, but those need to simmer longer. When the time feels right, the concepts more figured out, I look forward to working on those. They also take longer and may require new skills, so as much as I would love to work on them, they are projects for another time.
At Home:
My world has been cold and snowy at home.
The snow can be so pretty to look at, but I really hate having to clean it up. There’s been way too much shoveling and snow blowing to do. Thankfully, it is supposed to warm up a little bit in the coming week, so a lot of this mess will melt.
The big relief on my heart is that things have settled down with my dogs and they seem to be doing well and be very happy again. Yay!
I hope things have been warm and bright in your world, may your winter be mild and your spring arrive early!
God bless!
