July Shines

Latest News:

I only finished a couple of paintings this month (and working on one more), but I’m really happy to be feeling like myself again, instead of the weird lost feeling that I had for months.

As usual, I wish I had more free/art time, I would love to get the print shop updated. There are several pieces that I would like to add, some going back to last year (like the da Vinci Podencos and Galgos), and a couple of recent paintings as well.

It’s always a challenge to decide how to prioritize my art time: painting, creating content for social media posts, updating the website, etc.

I enjoy doing each of these things, I just wish I had more time to get them done regularly.

In The Studio:

I can probably just continue the idea of wishing for more art time into this section, lol.

Along with feeling like my old self again comes all the ideas for projects I want to do/finish. The T-shirt designs I wanted to do a pre-order sale of, the calendar I wanted to make, another infinite zoom video, another simple animation…the list goes on.

I’m very grateful to be full of ideas, but for now I have to be OK with writing them down, so I don’t forget them, and saving them until the time is right.

At Home:

My little (mostly) blind boy had his latest appointment with his ophthalmologist, and he’s still doing really well, the meds are doing their job (yay!).

The bad news is that his ophthalmologist (which I love) is moving to another state, so we need to change doctors and clinics (booo).

He also had his regular senior dog check up at our regular vet. He has a history of being very fearful at the vet and has come such a long way, his confidence has grown immensely.

He did really well for his exam, right up to the last thing, the blood draw. Then he started getting stressed. I decided to stop instead of pushing him further. So he will go back in a couple of weeks for just the blood draw.

We did this last year as well, and the blood draw by itself went really smoothly.

The rowdy Chihuahua is doing great and being her usual silly, rowdy self, doing Chihuahua parkour around the living room and pushing to the front of the line whenever treats come out.

She’s the happiest of all of us that the Independence Day holiday, with all of its bangs and booms, is over for another year. Her new med for loud noises (Sileo) has been a big help. This was our first Fourth of July together, so I wasn’t sure how she would be, but I knew that she is afraid of thunder. She wasn’t as frightened by the fireworks as she is with thunder, but I will still use the Sileo for both until she’s much less concerned about them (if that ever happens). One of the upsides of Sileo is that they often need less and less treatment over time, fingers crossed that this will be the case for her.

I hope your July has been wonderful, full of sunny days and fun adventures with your dogs!

God bless!

Jennifer
