Fair February

Latest News:

Most of my artistic time in February was spent making a couple of fun illustrations.

One is of a bright snowy day at home, a cottage in the countryside, playing with the dogs in the snow. This one actually has a second version as well, a moonlit night scene, with the dogs wearing glowing LED colors so they can be seen in the darkness.

The second was an illustration in celebration of Lunar New Year, ringing in the Year of the Dragon.

Two small dogs dressed as dragons romp and play in a garden, being watched over by their two loving angels. Hoping for love and happiness in the year ahead.

While I feel a little guilty that I still haven’t added anything new to my poor, neglected online shop, I really enjoyed everything about making these paintings. I can only hope that you have enjoyed them as well.

In The Studio:

Upcoming projects have me feeling a bit lost. I have ideas, but there seems to never be enough time to do them.

I’m working on things that I want to draw or paint, which I love, but I have other ideas as well. A video or two that would be fun to make, experimenting with a tiny bit of animation, or just switching up mediums… I’m never sure what to work on next, and time always seems limited.

It’s like everything else, I suppose, one step at a time.

At Home:

Things at home have calmed down a bit lately, thank goodness!

My little man, who went blind quite suddenly at New Year’s, seems to be stable and adjusting to life with very little vision (he can only see some light and shadows). The household routines are all different now, trying to make things as easy as possible for him. Lots of lights on and secondary cues with sound to help him navigate. I’m looking forward to spring and warmer weather, he navigates better outside where it’s more open, and he gets more playful. So I’m looking forward to him having more time to run and play outside, in warm, bright weather.

The other dog, my wild little Chihuahua, has been sweet and tolerant with all the changes. Although she did manage to hurt herself this past month and ended up on crate rest for 10 days, potty breaks on leash, carried up/down stairs, lifted on/off furniture, etc. She hated every minute of it. However, it did the trick, she’s feeling great, and back to her rowdy self.

I hope that your February has been peaceful, with singing birds, early flowers starting to push their way up out of the soil, and some mild days that have the fresh smell of spring in the air.

God bless!

Jennifer
