February
Latest News:
This section is typically used to announce any new release paintings, but this month I don’t have one ready. There are a couple that I could get varnished and listed, but I haven’t gotten to them yet.
There is a new digital painting of my crew, just for Valentine’s Day and some fun pencil sketches.
Galgos Del Sol had a fundraising auction this month to which I donated the Phoenix oil painting, so that is now on its way to its new home in the UK (yay!).
In The Studio:
I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head for digital paintings. The ideas are still a little vague, but I’m going to get those pinned down a little better so I can get started.
In the meantime, I have been really enjoying the small, pencil sketches that I have been posting lately. It’s fun drawing practice, and it uses a different “muscles“ than painting. It has felt rather therapeutic, and seems to help relieve stress. It’s something I would like to continue, if I can make the time for it.
At Home:
Life has felt hectic and stressful this month. There has been a lot of pressure to take care of obligations and things with deadlines or urgency to them.
My car lease was up, so I needed to buy it…ended up with the most awful salesman who turned a straightforward transaction into a drawn out, miserable process.
Had to get tax paperwork to the accountant, then pay property tax, and then had a plumbing issue come up at home, that required having a pro out to repair…twice.
I like my quiet little life, all of this is much too much anxiety for me!
But my little man is like a brindle superhero! Always there with love, silly antics, and snuggles. Even when I am sad or completely stressed, he never fails to make me laugh. I wish I could be with him 24/7. 💕
I hope that your February has been pleasant, low stress, and lots of fun!
And I hope you are having the opportunity to notice the small early signs that spring is on its way…even if we aren’t quite done with winter yet.
