September
Latest News:
There are no new releases (prints or originals) for September.
One current project, still in process, is a small series of Da Vinci inspired Podenco drawings. There are four of them planned, and maybe a Galgo group as well. I’m even considering Italian Greyhounds and Chihuahuas, but we’ll see.
Part of me wants to use them for something, maybe notecards (?), but I’m not really sure.
Right now I’m just enjoying making them.
In The Studio:
There is a very special project sitting on the easel at the moment, an original painting in acrylic for the Hope For Podencos 2024 calendar.
I’ve been so excited about this project! I’ve been blessed with great reference photos to work with from @rosa_the_podenco (on Instagram) and I’m really trying to make it something they will love.
I look forward to being able to share the finished painting with the world, but I will be waiting until Rosa’s family and Hope For Podencos reveal it first.
Something to look forward to!
At Home:
This past week my little man went to the vet for his long awaited dental procedure.
The clinic was so wonderful with my fearful (of vet visits) little boy, they let me come in and hold him while they gave him the anesthesia, he was able to totally relax in my arms before heading to the back for the procedure. I think this was so much easier on him than just being dropped off.
He had dental x-rays, a cleaning, and two teeth extracted. They said his teeth are actually in really good shape for a small dog of his age (12 or 13?), with the tartar removed, of course.
He recovered like a rockstar, wanting to run and play just a few hours after coming home. I have been vigilant with his rowdy ways all week, gently interrupting, as he is supposed to be taking it easy.
I’m so grateful that this procedure is over and that he did so well. I always find it stressful when one of my dogs needs to go under anesthesia, so I am now very relieved.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful September, savoring the last days of summer, and maybe even enjoying the shorter days and cooler nights.
While summer is my favorite, we do have spooky season to look forward to!
God bless!
