February Challenges
Latest News:
There are finally some originals making their way into the shop!
There is a charcoal drawing of an Italian Greyhound, a small watercolor painting of a Lurcher, and a watercolor Podenco in profile.
On another note, Dynamic Dog Art now has a TikTok account! This had been on the list for the future, but I felt like making the account one day, to make sure that I could get the name, so I just did it.
There are currently only a couple of videos there, but more will be coming soon. The plan for the TikTok account is just some low-key relaxing progress videos of the art or wipe-away videos, with calm or happy music. Nothing crazy, I won’t be dancing!
So if you’re on TikTok and like that type of content, please check us out (@dynamicdogart)!
In The Studio:
The plan for the originals had been to have 5 or 6 listed before making the announcement that they were available. But it’s been challenging getting the watercolors varnished. They need to be spray varnished and I would generally do that in the garage because of the fumes, but the freezing temperatures make that impossible.
I also find that I’m a bit attached to some of the older pieces, and haven’t been able to part with them just yet. Silly maybe, I don’t know. Do other artists have that problem? I’m sure that they will get listed eventually, in the meantime I just need to make more.
The obstacles to getting 5-6 listed seemed to bog me down. I decided that I needed to just take that first step. If I couldn’t get those 5-6 ready and available, then I needed to start with one. So the originals are getting added to the shop one at a time, as I get them ready.
I received a couple of really nice messages through Instagram recently. They said that they like the account because the content makes them smile, and has helped them to discover other great accounts.
This really made my heart happy! I feel truly privileged to have such nice people follow along with this journey, and if I can make you smile, whether it’s my own content or something fun that I share, that really makes my day!
At Home:
*Sigh* Life dealt me a pretty hard blow this month. I lost my mom. Nothing ever really prepares you for that. I’m coping okay. She’s no longer suffering, she’s at peace.
As a silly way of helping to cheer myself up, I had made videos of my dogs having a Valentines Day treat. They had really over-the-top cheesy borders, pink and full of hearts, cupids, I love you’s, XOs, etc. Then the videos wouldn’t play. I ended up sharing a watered-down version of them because that was all that I could get together in the short time that I had left.
If I figure out the problem, those videos might re-surface at some completely out-of-place time of the year. So don’t be surprised if you see crazy lovey heart videos in March or April!
My boys are doing well, if not a little stir crazy. Completely understandable. Too much snow and ice to be loony outside and limited space to be loony inside. But we should be getting some more breaks in the weather soon, and hopefully they will get to run off some of that energy.
A great big thank you to all of you dog art lovers for joining me on this adventure, your support has been life changing!
Many prayers for all of you, may there be peace and light in your hearts…and in the world!
XO
