Dog art original oil painting greyhound at sunset

Latest News:

A new oil painting was completed this month, Autumn In The Forest, where a dark hound stands in a patch of sun against the striking backdrop of a fall forest. A reminder of the beautiful fall days that we spend with our dogs.

It may need another week or two before it’s ready to varnish, but in the meantime there are two other oil paintings that were recently added to the shop.

The first is Checking In (featured above), a light-colored hound playing in a field at sunset checks in with her favorite human.

The second is Bounding Podenco, a white Podenco in a sunny meadow, bouncing off to find some fun.

Both paintings are 8.75x 6.75 inches on primed board, varnished for protection, matted and framed.

You can find all the details in the Originals shop, button below.

In The Studio:

While there is a new painting on the easel, one that is being made for later donation, I would like to mention that November marks a couple of anniversaries for Dynamic Dog Art that I am very grateful for.

Two years ago, around Thanksgiving 2020, was when I finally got up the courage to start posting my art online. I was so scared to do it, but I knew that I needed to. I never imagined that I would find such an amazing community of encouraging, supportive people. I never knew how kind complete strangers on the internet could be. I am eternally grateful for you!

One year ago, on Thanksgiving weekend, I finally launched the website. I had been working on it in my free time, in addition to making art, for months, and it finally went live. My sales have been modest, but that’s OK. I love making the art, and I actually really enjoy working on the website, with new listings and updates, and writing the newsletter. Following this dream has been a really good thing for me, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to make the art I love and share it with the world.

At Home:

The Podenco with PLE (protein-losing enteropathy) has been doing well. He had some raised liver enzymes on a recent test that indicated he may have an infection in his liver. They added another antibiotic to his meds and at recheck the enzymes had returned to normal. The Vet felt that because he had no symptoms we had probably caught it early. So I guess that’s an upside to getting bloodwork so frequently (monitoring his condition).

Throughout this infection and treatment his blood proteins have remained stable (yay!) and he’s been in great spirits. Just his usual silly, playful self, and the increased mischief that is normal for this time of year, when outdoor activities have dwindled, due to the weather.

The little guy is also his usual sassy, spunky self. Playful and opinionated, but also so sweet and snuggly in the chilly weather.

And, of course, we always keep our Chihuahua angel close in our hearts.

I hope you are doing well and that life is being kind to you.

I really don’t know the words to express my gratitude to you for being here, it amazes me.

Please take care, stay warm, and hug your dogs!

Jennifer
