May

Latest News:

There is a new print release for May, Sunset Run.

A Trio of fast friends enjoys one last sprint around the field before coming in for the evening. The smell of the fresh summer air will last long into their dreams tonight!

I really enjoyed the process of making this one. After months of making paintings that I’ve been mostly disappointed with, it’s a welcome relief to have one that I really like result.

In The Studio:

I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I’m still struggling with focus. I have ideas, I want to draw and paint…but then I can’t decide what to work on, or I feel too drained to get started. That led me to trying some small watercolors, trying to do smaller projects, low pressure…then disappointment in the results which left me discouraged. Sigh.

I did make a design to put on a T-shirt that I’m really happy with. I made it just for myself, but once I have the shirt made, I will share it. It’s Podenco themed.

At Home:

I can’t wait for the summer weather. It’s still a little chilly here, but this weekend marks the point of the year that it is safe to plant in my area (no more risk of frost).

I bought some annuals today so I can plant some flower pots for around the yard. They always look cheerful and bright.

There are several things that I have wanted to get done before I start looking for another dog to add to the family. I’m hoping to reach the point where I give myself permission to start looking in the upcoming month.

I’m not sure if my heart is ready, but I think that my little man would really love having another dog to play with again. He can only play so much with his old lady, it’s just not the same. I want him to have that joy again.

I also suspect that adding that love and energy into the household again is a critical part of my healing journey. I’m not sure that I can get there without it.

I hope that the month of May has been beautiful for you! Much love to you and and your dogs!
